My Makeup...

I had a few comments requesting what makeup i use and since i am not a "have to buy every new piece of makeup and learn every technique" kinda gal i thought i would just do a small post about what i use on a regular basis.

I do like makeup particularly lipsticks but if i find something that works for me i will usually stick to it! Im not too crazy on the tools either, the quicker and easier is best for me.

Step 1 - Start with a clean face and dab Rimmel concealer under your eyes and on any annoying spots.

Step 2 - I use Revlon Colorstay foundation because its light and gives great coverage just smear on a desired amount and work it under your chin and into the hair-line (just a little dont go crazy)

Step 3 - I take the L'Oreal eyeshadow palette and use a finger to brush the cream shimmer under my eyebrows.

Step 4 - Brush the darker eyeshadow over the entire eye using a finger to smudge the edges.

Step 5 - Use the cream shimmer in the corners of your eyes and work it outwards.

Step 6 - Take your eyeliner pencil and fill in the spaces i use Savvy (its good for blondes)

Step 7 - Next on to the eyeliner! i have tried a few in the past but i have always come back to Rimmel the tip is easy to use and it stays on all day line your eyes and flick the end upwards to create a cat eye look.

Step 8 - Apply a few coats of Mascara (if your rushing try not to poke your eye out)

Step 9 - Use your blush brush to add a little colour to your cheeks i use the fish face to get the outline to follow when applying it i use Revlon Blush becuase i can sometimes add a little bronze to it too (only when im feeling adventurous)

Step 10 - Apply a lip balm (Lucas Paw Paw) and then a few swipes of lipstick in the pictures above i am wearing Model Co True Red.

So there you have it! Nothing fancy but it suits me just fine! Have any of you posted about your makeup routine before? If so, post a link in the comments id love to read them.

photo _MG_9461_zps47730966.jpg So during the week i visited my hair dresser completely frustrated with my mop of hair! Since being copper not so long ago my hair has definately not wanted to let go of the red tinge through it and i was about to demand she shave it all off and start again! (thank goodness i didnt go that far) I have wanted to go completely platinum for awhile so i decided to take the plunge and chop most of it off while i was there too.

So glad i did! My pin curls are easier to work with and the colour is almost perfect (the next time i go it will be more the colour i was looking for).

I am also looking forward to re-trying a few styles that my long hair was holding me back attempting! Pretty funny how a new hair cut can make you feel like you can take on the world!

Frump to Fun...

On my weekends i usually spend a little time fixing up dresses that i have op shopped during the week to pop into the shop.

I thought i would show you how simple it is to breathe a little life into old and somewhat frumpy dresses to give them a new lease on life!

I spotted this dress amongst a pile of polyester blouses and instantly fell in love with the collar and buttons the hem wasnt a bad length and i knew by removing the sleeves it would be instantly cute!

Ta Daaa!! This literally only took me around an hour to take the sleeves off and its ready for the shop.

There are so many easy and simple ways to make a piece of clothing wearable again new buttons, raise the hem, take off the sleeves or even dye a different colour!

This dress will be up for purchase in the shop this week! I hope you like how the dress turned out as much as i did! Xx

photo _MG_9421-1_zpscf56168e.jpg As the weather is getting hotter here i have been wearing more simple outfits, a cute vintage dress and a belt and im done! I still do my hair and makeup of course but its becoming a good challenge to pick only two or three pieces to match together for the day.

I borrowed this amazing vintage dress from the shop today! (im sneaky like that sometimes) it is of course up for purchase too. I love it because its just so easy to wear and the boned 'V' neckline is so pretty it was begging for me to take it out of the studio and give it a little sunshine! (this is my story and im sticking to it!)

Life has been a little quiet lately just work and cleaning it feels like! this weekend i am making a point of going to my favourite park and dwelling there for at least half of the day! My mind goes a little bonkers if i dont get some good quality reading and park time (essential to everyone i say!) i am sure Boots will tag along too if he decides to play nice and not make me run after him yelling like a crazy woman!

I hope you all have some good plans for your few days off! HAPPY FRIDAY! XX

Blue Lagoon...

I had such a relaxing weekend filled with reading, hemming, eating vietnamese and writing letters. Z was working most of the weekend so i caught up on watching Downtown Abbey (because he cant stand watching it) and Becoming Jane which i surprisingly enjoyed! I also had the chance to wear my new vintage dress i op shopped during last week. The pattern instantly caught my eye it is so vibrant and happy (and i am all about that my friends) it fits perfectly is in great condition and only the hem needed lifting to make it a little cuter.

This year i have decided to focus more on the fabrics i buy, i admit i do have quite a few easy to wear polyester and rayon dresses and i do love my cotton dresses too but i gigured i would look at a few vintage dresses made in silk and softer fabrics which are a little more comfy and breezy to wear.

I have been working on a few cute pieces to put in the shop this week, including an amazing 1950's choker so hopefully one of you snaps it up! because i am already having pangs of regret for selling it! Its divine.

Hope you all are having a fab start to the week Xxx

Finger Waves..

I was up at the crack of dawn this morning on a mission to attempt a finger wave on my hair. I had watched a few tutorials on how to do it, each one different to see what would work best with my long hair.

Armed with hairspray, gel and clips i did my best with burry morning eyes and id have to say i think it was okay for my first attempt. Next time though i will definately do a few things differently! Instead of just wetting the top part of my hair and having the rest dry i might pin it straight out of the shower and let it dry slowly i will also invest in a few longer clips to keep the rows in line. I definately want the rows deeper so there is a bit more of a visible wave going on.

Have any of you attempted it before? Any tips? I might spend my morning tomorrow finding a better technique.

On another note, i couldnt think of a better day to wear a fluffy hat!

Mr Boots...

I honestly cannot believe how big my boy is now! I feel like it was only weeks ago we picked him up and brought him home. He has lost his baby coat and is now driving us a little bonkers with hole digging and his infactuation with one pair of my shoes he always manages to get a hold of! But he is honestly the funniest pup i know! always greeting me with webs stuck to his face, rolling over for tummy rubs as soon as you pat him and dragging tree branches across the yard to make himself a little nest on the lawn...gah i love him so..(i mean check out that cheeky grin)

Boots also had his first christmas and was spoiled, he got more presents than me i swear! I loved having my whole family over eating and wearing cracker hats! nothing quite like it.

This is one of the outfits i managed to put together over the two weeks when i wasnt in bathers i am still in love with this skirt! A darn good op shop find i'd say.
