Music Monday...

Sigur Ros....

The first time i heard Sigur Ros i was at a friends place a few years ago and he made me sit and watch their live DVD...it was just amazing i had never heard anything like it before in my life..mayb..pretty close to life changing...(well definately goose bump worthy)
They are Icelandic and are the only group i can listen to where the magic of it all is not understand the lyrics or story behind it.. but still manages to be the most soul touching sound you will ever hear..
This is one of my favourite songs but this one comes in a pretty close second.. And how adorable is the video makes me want to jump in some puddles..So close the door or just take a few minutes to watch this... Trust me, if they aren't already in your ipod.. they will be soon!!

Tame Impala...

Although not a new band on the scene i still play Tame Impala like they are!! They have such an amazing sound almost a mix of Pink Floyd and Beatles almost...but still pretty hard to classify them really... Solitude is Bliss is one of my fav songs of theirs but you also have to check out half glass full too...ohh so good!!! I hope you are all having a fab Monday.. and your New Year was amazing!!! The Seabellies

Its already Monday.. i cant believe that Christmas is already over and New Years is on its way.. i hope you all had a safe and family filled Chrissy...
As usual i have been listening to alot of indie/pop over the week its just such a mood lifter and great for lounging in the blowup pool at the front of our house sipping cocktails!! So i thought id post a bit of Seabellies another fab Australian band.. I hope it lifts you out of your Monday blahs and gets you off the couch from nursing your Christmas bellies XX (I have a fair bit of running to do this week to make up for it)!!!

The National..

Along with their sexy dapper style and beards The National are seriously talented and Matt Berninger's voice makes me totally swoon!!! I completely get lost in the lyrics and want to stay in bed with the rain beating down listening to them all day!!! (sigh) if only that was possible... I have a bit of an emotional connection with them now as i was driving home feeling down one day and they came on the radio.. And it totally forced me to snap out of my gloomy mood...It was like love at first listen... Am i the only one who forms weird relationships with music? haha I know that sounds unusual but its really funny that every band i love has a different part of me..formed at different times in my life and i know how i was feeling or what i was doing when i first heard them!!! (or mayb its about time i just went on a date or something)..

The Jezabels...

Definately one of my favourite bands at the moment i have them on high rotation in my Ipod... I love songs that make me want to play them so loud my car speakers start to shake (and the singer sort of reminds me a little of Mazzy Star)..They are definately setting the bar for Australian music at the moment...give them a listen their whole album is pretty much perfect..

Boy & Bear...

Since were officially in Summer (In Australia at least) i have been constantly playing a mix of classic and Indie pop music..gets you into the summer spirit and almost makes me want to jump into my car with my friends and take a roadtrip down south wind blowing in our hair and mild sunburned skin... im hoping i might catch Boy & Bear at one of the festivals this year they never fail to make me want to dance around..

Lanie Lane...

I hadn't heard too much about Lanie Lane until i was browsing through the JJJ Unearthed website listening to all the up and coming artists and her voice completely blew me away not only that i am literally obsessed with this song now i just cant get it out of my head, its a perfect catchy summer song!! Her voice reminds me so much of Billie Holiday mixed with Kate Bush.. Plus her vintage dresses are all to die for!!! Frankie summed her up pretty perfectly here

Hope you all had a fab weekend i spent it browsing the stalls at the Beaufort Street Festival and having one too many ciders in the sun XX

The Arcade Fire...

Its Music Monday again...i cant believe how fast the weekend went...only like 6 weeks to Christmas!! ahhhhh...
I wanted to post about my number 1 band today The Arcade Fire, i know most of you have a similar love affair with them as i do.. Id have to say about two years ago i first heard keep the car running and since then they still remain my favourite band ever!!!! i saw them live at the big day out a few years ago too and they completely blew my mind.. they have everything i love about music bumpy beats, clapping, whistling and infections lyrics..

So how was your weekends??? We had the most awful weather, sticky and hot but overcast i mean whats with that?? I managed sneak in a country drive and then i went to watch Social Network on Saturday night and id have to say i was a little unimpressed.. did anyone else feel that way (mayb im the only one) im not sure why i just didnt feel it held my attention (i get twitchy when im bored) and then on Sunday i went Here for my Best Friends birthday lunch which was super lovely..lots of wine and giggles..

I love this song so much along with this song also, Bat For Lashes is the perfect mix of mysterious lyrics and catchy beats!! Natasha Khan is completely adorable and i love her eclectic vintage style too. Happy Monday

Beach House..

The Beach House album "Devotion" is the perfect soundtrack to a lazy nostalgic day preferably when the rain is beating down on your windows and your still in your pyjamas at noon. The lyrics are hauntingly beautiful and just by listening to them gives you an automatic creative kick.. they stir up the writer in me i swear to you...Bon Iver does the exact same thing..there is just something in the lyrics almost like an unexplainable euphoric feeling... Enjoy the video how cute is it..love the polaroids!!

Music Monday...

Ive decided to start a new feature on the blog and have Music Monday's music is such a huge part of my life and i love sharing my fav songs and bands so why not kickstart the week with a tune or two!!

Today its Lavender Diamonds i love happy, hand clapping, lip whistling songs and this is one of my favourites and i mean hello rollerskates!!! They are a Los Angeles based folk band fronted by Becky Stark (who is completely adorable) and her style is beyond whimsical and wonderful i mean look here for example!!! I have a habit when im driving if i hear a song i have to whip out my phone and type the name of it while driving (not recommended) i remember i ended up typing something crazy instead of Lavender Diamonds and it took me ages to track the song down again!!

I hope you all had a fab weekend, i spent mine drinking lots of this..

And spending some time with this cute fellow Boris (my best friends pup)..dont you just want to cover his face in kisses..

Weekend Playlist & Stop Motion Love..

I know this is the second stop motion video i have posted on the Blog but i seriously have a slight obsession with them now and i have been putting plans in motion to have my video finished very soon (which of course i will post here for you all to see) i love love this one that was made for Oren Lavie and his song Her Morning Elegance it is so beautiful...makes me want to go to bed really haha!!! there is something so magical about stop motion, i cant wait to have mine finished!! so exciting...

And i thought id put in a little weekend music for you all..i have been listening to a serious mix of artists lately so i thought id share..also have you guys been listening to anything that i simply must listen to??? any suggestions would totally make my weekend..

I am going to a Halloween themed party tonight (i know its not till next week..she is a little early haha) and im still not sure on what im going as (last min planning..yup) ill probably end up throwing together something crazy!! and then im planning to have the most relaxing weekend..lots of sun soaking and coffee drinking...
