Lately...

1 - Spot of antique shopping in Subiaco, their cup and saucer sets are incredible!

2 - Lazy Sunday afternoon trying out new lipsticks.

3 - Last weekend shooting with the amazing Tegan again, love the old train station in Whiteman Park.

4 - Duke finally finding his wings he likes perching on the weirdest places now!

5 - My attempt at Bettie Bangs for dancing during the week.

6 - Walking around my neighbourhood on a warm afternoon.

7 - Hot enough for a straw hat, yessss!

8 - Mother Nature turning on the sharm, Peonies are my favourite!

Sorbet...

These two amazing colours paired together always make me think of sorbet..pastel pink and yellow there is possibly nothing prettier!

This little combo is actually a dress and skirt, with my fuller skirts i love layering it over a dress to add a bit of volume(like a makeshift petticoat)it also gives you a few more options when they get a little boring after awhile! Keep in mind though with the super hot weather we will be having double layers might not be a good idea!!!

I managed to film a new hair tutorial over the weekend which im excited to post..ill hopefully have it up very soon!

Tissues and Tea...

As i am typing this little post i am surrounded by tissues and tea..after a few days of attempting to fight this delightful head cold i am officially in a state of "seriously..im over it" i spent most of yesterday on the couch eating sorbet and watching Grease with tissues up my nose...and then whinged about having to miss my swing dance classes to anyone who would listen...which unfortunately was only Duke at the time (who was not sympathetic to say the least)so i wanted to apologise for my lack of blogging and make a solomn promise to "blow your mind" with vintage goodness next week (when i dont resemble rudolph).

To all of you who a sporting the carrier of viral plague badge..i feel your pain and to all of you who are bouncing out of bed this morning and are able to have milk in your coffee..im extremely jealous..and hating on you just a little :)

MoMos...

The Vintage Parlour...

Over the weekend The Vintage Parlour hair how-to day launched!

To say i was nervous was an understatement i arrived almost two hours early and loitered around sweating like crazy because i was trying to stop myself from loosing my breakfast (lovely i know) i had never spoken to a group of ladies about vintage styling let alone run a class teaching them tips and tricks!

But after everyone started arriving i immediately lost all my jitters as everyone was so lovely and incredibly kind, (even when i did squeal..loudly..with delight at meeting a few Vintage Valley readers..sorry about your ears ladies) i was able to put faces to names(& Instagram accounts) and we all spent a few hours chatting about hair and fashion with a few glasses of champagne, we then finished the night off with a few solid hours of swing dancing! (i was exhausted to say the least)

I seriously didnt want it to end and i am so hoping Perth Swing Dance Academy will want to host another Vintage Parlour day, fingers crossed!

Summer Lovin...

The weather is finally warming up and in celebration I did a huge wardrobe swap over to give my cooler clothes prime position in the closet (even though I feel like I dress for Summer all year round) I found this incredible vintage electric orange pencil skirt and since I have lost a few kilos the past few months it now fits like a glove! Huzzah!!

I am also on the hunt for the perfect Capri pants to add to some of the amazing tie tops I have found op shopping lately, any suggestions on some fantastic brands? I am also getting extremely excited about The Vintage Parlour hair how-to which I am hosting this Saturday, I am quite nervous but I’m also over the moon a few of my readers are coming, I cant wait to meet them all over a glass of champagne!

Lavender Dreams...

A few weekends ago i was lucky enough to do another shoot with the amazing Tegan Ptasznyk i am a little too eager to see how the photos turned out! The location (Melville Rose Garden) was absolutely incredible lavender and rose hues everywhere i almost died and went to flower heaven!

Here is a little behind the scenes shot she took on my good old iphone, but as soon as i get the photographs ill be sure to share them with you all! She honestly is such a talented lady! I wore a vintage lace tie top and an amzing skirt i op shopped awhile ago...perfect for twirling in!

Accessorising: Flower Love

I have been completely obsessing over the idea of accessorising with pieces that make an impact but are still pretty and natural, I have been wearing brooches in clusters on the waistline of my pencil skirts and draping colourful scarves through the belt on my dresses!

One amazing idea is pinning fresh flowers to your outfits! I spotted the photograph of the pink dress a few months ago and it has stuck in my mind ever since, after that I then I started seeing it everywhere!!

It’s just such a cute and fresh way to add a little colour without going too crazy!
