Spunky Spots..

If your having a giggle at the title of this post...i dont blame you! I sat staring at the word spots for about ten min trying to figure out what would sound right...and spunky is all that came to me! (offical brain mush today).

Anyhoo..along with the drawers of scarves i already have (and definitely need around third day hair) i added this spotted beauty to my collection over the weekend! i am rather picky, they need to be the right width, length and fabric to be able to work with well and a cute colour and pattern dosent go astray also! I have also come up with a cute way of storing them in an orderly fashion too which i will show you on Friday!

I have been obsessed with playing "Dont Fence Me In" today, could be a sign im in need of a holiday...or to frolick in a field somewhere! Xx

(P.S - apologies for the blurry images..darn shaky hands!)

photo _MG_0535_zpsdbb57413.jpg I can’t believe it is already Monday! i don’t even remember half of what i filled my weekend with! (Possibly because i watched 13 episodes of Orange is the new Black..but i did stop for meals)i also ventured out into the bucketing rain for coffee with the girls and to visit my local op shop, i walked away with a few amazing pieces!

Red is always one of those colours i love accessorising with it’s a instant hit of happiness and its possibly why I don’t use any other colour on my nails! Its classic! This pleated skirt was one of my op shop finds over the weekend, since we are still having rainy weather a good woollen skirt is always a must! (so is a hair scarf since the wind ruined my hair..thanks ever so much!)

I hope you all had a fab weekend! Here’s to a inspiring week!!

Dress Up...

 photo _MG_0411_zpsa561f46d.jpg

photo _MG_0409_zps40c6d252.jpg Sometimes when your hair turns out great and your wing tipped eyeliner is even on both eyes (huzzah) its a good excuse to try out a few outfits (and possibly document them?) I took a few shots to send over to the amazing team at Kidspot who are running the Voices of 2013 and since im actually wearing pants (gasp) in one image i figured i would share!

A few weeks ago whilst sifting through the nanna pants rack in my local op shop i found these beauties! i normally shy away from pants (it may be my long standing dissaproval of my thighs..thanks for the genes mum!) but since they actually fit in all the right places and were short enough to roll up slightly at the bottom i took them home! And since my yellow 50's dress was feeling a little left out i gave her a twirl too.

I have a few hair tutorials to film this weekend since the weather is going to be super rainy im taking advantage of it and cooping myself up with a few projects and a few good movies ive been meaning to watch..A friend of mine mentioned i should give Sharknado a watch..hmmm sharks in a tornado and Tara Reid = Cringe worthy hillariousness.

I hope your weekend is swell Xx

Roll and Twist..

photo _MG_0498_zps9b9b7947.jpg Sunday's hairstyle resulted in one of those "amazing" hair days! possibly because i had a little longer than normal in the morning to roll and pin whilst a cup of hot coffee sat next to me and Duke performed his morning chatter/chirp session.
I then threw on one of my favourite 50's dresses and braved the frosty wind to have a coffee with a new friend in a cosy cafe! After which i then ate (a whole packet)of 100's & 1000's Oreo cookies while watching Seinfeld re-runs. (of course there was the mundane washing clothes and mopping floors in between..but who wants to hear about that!)

Hope your weekend was swell! Xx

Lavender Love...

Whenever I wear lavender I get an instant urge to put pastel colours in my hair, (I don’t think I would ever go as far as doing it..going red was enough of a leap) but it just cries out for dusty pastel shades. As much as I love my bright wardrobe I try and incorporate a little bit of a mix. Unfortunately those bright shades are a little harder to mix and match with other pieces, so a vintage pleated skirt is a must for any girl! I found this incredibly delicious skirt while rummaging around in my local op shop yesterday it has everything I look for in the perfect skirt…length, detail, fit and fabric! It is heavy enough to not blow up at a random wind gust but not too heavy for a good twirl!

This weekend is hopefully going to be filled with a bit of exercise, taking in a few dresses, watching Arrested Development re-runs, a few cocktails and a bit of antique shopping! Bliss! I hope you all have a few well deserved days off. Xx

Stop Staring...

A few weeks ago I took the plunge and invested in a Stop Staring dress, I had always admired the flattering fit but I couldn’t justify the price for a retro reproduction, in a moment of desperate “ive got absolutely nothing to wear” I decided to bring one home!

To say I am in love with it is an understatement! The fabric has just enough stretch to sit, eat, drink and be merry without worrying about seam splitting, the subtle ruching means your all tucked in, in just the right places and it’s the perfect length and tightness to feel like a sexy secretary hitting the town.

I must say now that it is definitely worth the money if you are looking for a dress that feels like it was made for you, however my heart still lies with vintage it will always have that certain magic a brand new dress could never live up to!

I hope your weekend was swell! I spent mine with tequila, dancing and Mexican (not necessarily in that order) hot milo on the couch with Duke and watching Walk The Line for the 50th time…not too shabby I’d say!

Duke...

 photo _MG_0340_zps31d890c9.jpg

 photo photo_zps8380dd64.jpg
Over the weekend i fell in love...with Duke! Is he not the most handsome little creature?

After a hard start to the year and having to say goodbye to my beloved Boots which i now only see every now and then, my little apartment was feeling a tad empty as i am used to always having life around me either pets or people.

Living by myself does have its perks but was lacking a little something..and since a pup is out of the question and fish dont hug Duke is the next best thing!

He took a day or so to get used to my loud noises and constant chatter but he is now jumping around and chirping away! I was so surprised at how much personality he already has and i am thinking i can teach him a few little tricks..eventually!

So instead of turning into a crazy succulent collector im now a bird lady...who would have thought!

Ruby Shoes...

As i mentioned on Monday i possibly had the most sloth-like weekend possible..if there was an award going for mexican eating, series watching & sleeping in..i would have won! I did however manage to snap a few pictures on Sunday (dragged my mustard bedroom chair out on the courtyard especially..magic right?) after i went for a two hour walk around my neighbourhood and came home with stolen garden mini roses shhhh which are now sitting pretty in my antique glass bottles!

As much as i love to wear my breath constricting wiggle dresses and heels, on Sundays i most definitely tone it down..a sundress, flats and a straw hat is suffice enough! (plus if i am pilaging neighbours rose bushes, escaping in a tight dress and heels would be near impossible) the blue tie top is also an essential in my wardrobe especially when Summer comes around again but since we are still getting amazing sun im not folding it in the back of the wardrobe just yet!

The ruby flats are a cheap pair from Target, as much as i like to invest in an amazing 50's dress and leather heels when it comes to flats i dont have the same sentiment, if they are comfy, cute and cheap thats all i need! (plus i dont feel so bad for being a little rough with them).

I hope your week has been swell so far and i will be back Friday with another post Xx
