The Creatives...

 photo the-creatives-9-of-221_zps1fdd6dc4.jpg

photo the-creatives-7-of-221_zps0fc10fde.jpg Last Friday i was very lucky to be featured on a new amazing project called The Creatives a Perth based hub of inspiration which is set to take off in a big big way!

The ladies who are behind this ingenious idea are some of the most energetic and creative people i have been lucky enough to meet, you know..the kind of people who light up a room and get everyone doing slightly embarressing things in a complete moment of incredible spontaneity..it makes you wish you could fill your life with only moments like that!

So you know when they launch a project its going to be a hit! If you are based in Perth Western Australia and want to be a part of this little corner of internet gold be sure to get in contact!

I also answered a few questions on their blog so pop on over if your curious!

I hope your weekend was as swell as mine..filled with too much Mexican food, good wine and lots of napping! (Bliss)

 photo _MG_0241_zps2143d1cd.jpg

A few weeks ago i posted about a lazy Sunday hair style that i had thrown together and since you all asked so nicely for a tutorial i scrambled one together.

In true Ally style i filmed it on a overcast day with little to none sun light (typical) so i hope you are able to see the video okay and get the idea of how quick and easy this no fuss up do is! If you have any questions please leave a comment and ill answer it for you! Xx

Winter Inspiration...

Firstly i would like to apologise for my lack of outfit uploads lately, i have been taking a bit of time to film some hair tutorial videos which i will be uploading very soon so it has taken a litte more time than i had hoped!

I thought i would share with you a snippet from my mood board for Winter i have always taken alot of inspiration from photographers in the 50's especially John Rawlings who shot all of these amazing images, he always manages to capture a very real aspect in his fashion shoots they are so relaxed and models are always dressed immaculately!

The fourth image is something i am already recreating i just love it! The wool dress paired with a crisp white shirt, red golves and matching hat! Its like a combination of all your favourite deserts in one! I think this Winter will be filled with grey and mustard tones, leather wrist length gloves, cherry lipstick and 1940's suits!

I just wanted to introduce to you the next addition to my little apartment! The most delightful 1950's formica kitchen table and chairs. I had been on the search for awhile now, and since i wanted something in great condition, only a four seater and not at a crazy price i waited..and waited!

The most kind faced gentleman with the sweetest grin dropped it off to me and said it was the table he had as a young boy in his mothers kitchen, he had alot of happy memories around that table and i promised him that i would take great care of it and surround it with friends and much love to continue the happy memories.

My little apartment is slowly coming together and i love that all the items in my place have their own story, i know where it came from the travels they have endured and how much joy they would have brought to their provious owners. Sometimes having brand new things are a fresh slate to start your own story about how they mesh with your life but i prefer to surround myself with an abundance of history..i feel i almost have a responsibilty to care for them and ensure their story continues...and so on..and so on!

Cape Love...

 photo _MG_0217_zps702d5ae3.jpg

photo _MG_0225_zpsa718a1db.jpg Some days i wake up and i honestly cant be bothered rolling my hair or picking an outfit, i am also still waiting for that Chanel automatic eye makeup applicator from 'The Fifth Element' to be available (its never going to happen...is it?..sigh) but on days like this if its cold enough i just throw on my cape and be done with it! It is still one of my most favourite pieces i have collected so far, i am sure it would tell me some incredible stories if it could talk and it is in need of some new buttons (which i am sourcing) but the lining is still amazing so it still has many cold mornings and rain to dodge with me in the future!

I am going to a pre-screening of The Internship tonight i do love me some Owen Wilson so hopefully its not a complete flop! Happy Wednesday! Xx

Lazy Sundays..

I made myself a promise to have an extremely lazy weekend to give not only my purse a break but to catch up on some much needed cleaning and reading. (i clearly love to live life on the edge huh!)

I did venture out to have a few wines for a friends surprise 30th where i ate way too much and burned a few holes in tablecloths..(i am not to be trusted with sparklers) but sunday was reserved for Sadie!

Although the boring cleaning was helped with cider, loud Jazz music and experimenting with new hair styles in between, Id have to say this is a messy version of a "Betty Grable eat your heart out" hairstyle and actually took me all of ten minutes to throw together! Must have been having a good hair day.

Im thinking this might be a good one for a tutorial one day!

I hope you all had a swell weekend! Xx

Sunflowers...

The weather we have been having is a little strange..it seems the seasons are slowing down almost! The leaves are still turning their amazing shades of gold and red and were already in Winter. I am still in denial ( i will possibly stay this way ) that i need to convert to darker colours Mulberry etc.. And since this skirt is my "skinny" skirt and i havent fit into it for a year or so im bringing the sunshine with me! (I guess we are lucky here in Australia that our Winter's are very mild).

I bought this sheer sunflower print top at a friends website launch (she has just started selling online) although it is not vintage and it has a more modern feel to it i still love the collar and sheer fabric and of course i wanted to support her new venture! Its a perfect little throw on top when im rushing around in the morning!

So i told you in my last post i finally got around to framing my 1930's player cards to hang in the loungeroom and here they are! I had to leave three cards out (they were a little damaged) but they fit in the frame perfectly. Pretty happy with the result!

Im loving that its Friday already! I have a few photoshoot plans this weekend as well as catching up with some old friends and attempting to save a vintage dress that i bought that is a little worse for wear.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Floating on Sequins...

 photo _MG_0181_zps860cbc43.jpg

 photo _MG_0173-1_zpsd9ccbc43.jpg

photo _MG_0183_zps60f08104.jpg I dont even know where to begin telling you much of a relaxing long weekend i had, after tackling a few projects including framing my 1930's player cards i showed you a few weeks ago and catching up on some reading i really began to appreciate how much an extra day off really helps (especially when i push housework to the very last min) living by myself has its perks i can walk around with unbrushed hair, leave my dishes in the sink and eat cereal on the couch while watching my terrible rom-coms! It can however get a little lonely so i am always trying to make a concious effort to always go out otherwise i am going to turn into the crazy lady in the apartment block who collects succulents and names her sea monkeys!

When i was looking for a dress to wear to the Voices of 2013 launch party i also bought this adorable sequined 1950's dress from Lucy in Disguise, i still havent had the chance to wear it out for cocktails but lounging around on my antique mustard seat will have to suffice for now! I am usually not a huge sequin's fan but the royal blue colour had my heart sold and the cut is pretty amazing!

The rest of my weekend consisted of Mexican and tequila at La Cholita who basically have the best fish tacos going around, walks around Kings Park with coffee as a reward (i need rewards for excercise) and watching American Pickers until i fell asleep on the couch! Bliss!!

Have a swell day Xx
