I took a few super quick photos this morning as i was running so late but i really wanted to show you my new dress from MoMo's.

I actually have another dress very similar its white with stripes on the collar! I find the fit to be so flattering (and accents my curves) i sometimes spend my days with a little bit of discomfort as i tend to squeeze myself into vintage pieces i may not be able to either sit or breathe in...(minor necessities haha) so its nice to have dresses that are actually tailored perfectly to my shape...if only i could squeeze myself into all the amazing retro shoes i find! (never..ever my size!)

I actually visited MoMo's to get a dress for the launch party in a few weeks for the Kidspot Voices of 2013 i did find an amazing 1950's velvet black dress that i may wear but i was slightly distracted by this dress and i knew i couldnt leave it behind! You can never have too many nautical inspired dresses..or too much navy! (and come on...boob pleats! Win!!)

I have decided to give the bike riding a bit of a rest (take a look at my poor bruised legs) i clearly am super uncoordinated and tend to use my legs as a form of stopping!

Happy Wednesday! Xx

I had such an amazing weekend! After a morning of bike riding (3 hours to be exact) and visiting one of my most favourite vintage shops MoMo's where i sifted through incredible dresses while sipping caramel infused coffee! I rode home and stopped off at a small tucked away antique shop only to find these original 1930's player cards in near perfect condition i am going to arrange them in a gorgeous vintage frame to display so they dont get any damage from my clumsy hands.

The hair styles in these cards are just incredible and i already have a few styles i want to give a go, i am also pretty chuffed that i managed to get a Bebe Daniels card! (score)

(P.S - after my riding efforts on Saturday...i literally was unable to move properly the whole day Sunday.. i looked like a little old lady haha!) obviously not as fit as i thought i was.

I hope your Monday so far has been magical Xx

Django & Juliette...

Blustery weather means the search for new winter shoes has started, I usually treat myself to a few new pairs to get me through as the shoes i have from the year before have telltale signs of puddle jumping and leaf kicking.

I am pretty basic when it comes to choosing! usually black, cream and tan are on the list (as they go with everything) i managed to score on these Django & Juliette shoes as my friend had originally put them aside for herself! After much debating she decided they were not going to get enough wear so i swooped in and snapped them up before she could change her mind! (benefits of having friends with the same size feet).

Well im off to have another coffee...i think its a double shot kind of day!

Although Autumn appears to be in full swing we didn't get our first bout of rain until this weekend! In true stubborn style though i am refusing to layer up just yet, It was so nice to hear the rain pitter pat on the windows and smell that unmistakable fresh scent it meant that i ended up spending most of my weekend surrounded by piles of hemming, tea and The Office re-runs.

I haven't been able to get out and buy anything vintage in awhile which means i have bee re-visiting items in my wardrobe, trying to get excited about them again! Nothing like a navy double up with a splash of red!! I have a few exciting events coming up though which means i am hunting for a few amazing dresses to wear (nothing better than a good excuse).

The sun peeked out long enough to throw on my straw hat and go for a bike ride on Sunday, my new suburb has so many cute streets and little hidden shops i am literally in heaven! There is the most amazing antique store where the furniture is literally pouring onto the road and the owner is so gentle and sweet with knowledge on absolutely everything you could possibly imagine! i have a wish list a mile long.

I hope you all had a fab weekend! Xx

Introducing my new love Lulu (yes i named her) after looking for quite awhile i finally found a yellow bike that didnt cost the sky and that i didnt have to assemble (that would have been a disaster...worse than ikea) after doing my typical routine of trying to squeeze her into my car...my hyundai getz is not ideal. I finally got her home!

I have already taken it on a few rides around my new neighbourhood and i am now literally not driving anywhere, i am already in walking distance to absolutely everything (including the best bakery in the world)and now i can ride everywhere else!

I am officially in my new apartment and am on the hunt for some vintage furniture i have already found an amazing 1940's packing crate with the original tags and markings (incredible) i am going to take my time though and slowly find things worth having, at first i was in such a rush to have everything in its place but i think slow and steady is the way to go.

I am so looking forward to the next few weeks, so many exciting things are happening and in the works also the leaves are finally changing (my fav season) the world just seems all the more beautiful! I am also putting the final colection together for Autumn/Winter in the shop! So many cute prints and cardigans.

Turning Another Page...

 photo IMG_7999-2_zps256b3b5a.jpg

To say things have been a little rough recently is an understatement lots of things are changing in my life some for the better and some heartbreaking.

As of next week i will be moving into a new apartment closer to work (which means i can ride a bike now) which was a little struggle to find in the first place since the rental market is a little competitive but with some good luck i found something.

This of course means me and Z are no longer together which was something i have been coping with for the past month or so i don’t want to get into too much detail here on the blog but since i will be probably posting photos in a new apartment i figured you all will be curious as to where i am.

I guess the best way to explain it is it comes down to just two people who love each other but are not necessarily compatible in the ways that matter most and so i decided to move forward into a chapter that i felt would be in the long run a positive thing for us both.

I am so thankful for all the wonderful things he has brought to my life and i know this road will be a tough time but I am attempting to look at the positives. The thing that breaks my heart is Boots as i am moving to an apartment i will unfortunately be unable to be his mum full time and so we will be co-parenting and i hope to still see him grow into the amazing pup he is already proving to be. I will miss his light in my life but am glad i can still see him every now and then.

In the light of all this change i am excited to be throwing myself back into my shop and building a new life for myself which i hope will be filled with many adventures and tackling these big dreams of mine!

Thanks for reading and i hope you know i consider you all like my little online family (so..virtual hug)

Easter Bliss...

 photo _MG_9777-1_zps873b2c4e.jpg

 photo _MG_9780-1_zps3ef057f8.jpg
I hope you all had a magical long weekend break (it flew past way too fast) I gorged myself on chocolate and ate way too many hot cross buns! I also took the trip up to see my family in Quairading i love this drive, nothing but an open road and old school tunes.

There is something so calming for me heading into the bush it always feels like home i think because i grew up on a 10acre farm i love everything about it, the sun dancing through the trees reflecting onto the window, animals grazing and the kindness of all the locals i had actually pulled over on the side of the road to take these photos and about two cars stopped to ask if i needed help! If that happened in the city i would be shocked you can be broken down (quite obviously) and most will turn a blind eye.

I found this dress quite a few years ago (i have featured it here on the blog a few times) it was hand sewn by a lady in the 50's and the fabric is hand painted (sigh..amazing) the collar has almost an origami feel to it. I remember at the time there was around 6 dresses she had sewn herself and i couldnt afford the others i have since kicked myself every day because i would have loved to have them in my collection.

I am now officially on a no chocolate diet...lets see how long that lasts! Xx
