For the love of trench coats..

Well when i decided to get up a little extra early this morning to snap a few photos..little did i know i was going to have extra carry on luggage under my eyes!!! the camera really dosen't lie at all haha so im sorry that i look super tired in all of these..but at least i wont be getting up at the crack of dawn to take pics anymore (which equals sleep in time for me so everybody wins)

Living in Australia has is good points i do love summer and the fact its always hot is a good thing sometimes..but the truth is i love Autumn and Winter.. im a self confessed layering girl and i have been dying to thrown on a jacket or cardigan to an outfit i always feel im missing something when i walk out the door.. but doing that would make me look really weird since its almost 40 degrees outside... fourtunately we have been having some rain due to a cyclone so i couldnt be happier to break out my Camel Trench coat...(ohh how ive missed you)



I love the lining..makes it all the more comfy and adds a cute splash of pattern!!



A big thank you to everyone who wished me a fast recovery..u must have been sending me positive energy because i feel great now!!! and i can eat again!! (first thing i ate was a grilled burger..they are just amazing) by Friday i was up to going to the movies and i watched Black Swan... i..loved...it!!! some people had mixed feelings about it..but everything was amazing the story, the rodarte costumes!! perfection..have any of you seen it yet???



I love this polka dot corset top..its actually shorter so its that exact length.. and i love that because there is nothing more i hate than extra fabric poking underneath the top of your highwaisted pencil skirt.. and you can sit comfortably too without holding your stomach in!!

Then for the rest of the weekend i photographed new shop items and had an amazing saturday breakfast on the harbour watching all the boats go by!! (not to mention making up for all the lost eating time)
Well i best be off.. i think ill have another coffee XX

I want to apologise first off for not having the shop update ready for today i know i have been promising to you all it would be this week!!! unfortunately this darn throat infection got better then worse again and ive been in bed for the majority of the time!! to all of you who were wanting to view the pieces im ever so sorry and ill be back on track next week...

because ive been feeling a little blah i thought what better than to look at a little glam on a friday..and Dita never fails to pull me out of a frump and want to do my hair and makeup..(properly) even when i feel like im about to rattle because of all the panadol and antibiotics im taking... i always used to wonder what the inside of her house would look like and then i found the In Style magazine interview, and (sigh) its pretty much better than i imagined...



This is my to die for kitchen... i did squeal.. (ill admit) when i saw it everything from the pastel colour palette to the checkerboard floor tiles!!!! Its a room filled with sunshine.. and i imagine it would make me want to cook.....or learn to...and yes i would be baking in Louboutin pumps if i had them!!





And her hat room... i would never leave.. i could just sit there all day and try them all on one by one!! Well i hope you all love love loved her place as much as i did...there are so many amazing vintage pieces i could imagine living at my place..
Now i promise to be back to it on Monday and blogging a little more also..

Take me to the water...

So its Australia Day today everyone gets the day off and the sun is out in full force!! i love this day everyone sits by the pool or heads to the beach to drink the day away to the JJJ countdown.. you can get away with eating way too much and burning food on the BBQ cause thats the aussie way...well thats what i will be doing today anyway lots of sun soaking and just hanging with the girls.. geez i need it ive been cooped up inside for two days with tonsilitis..theres nothing worse than not being able to eat..for me anyway!!



I quickly took some photos this morning because i was feeling better today for two days ive been eating icecream and watching La Vien Rose (Which i loved), The Young Victoria and The Office while quietly dying.. i honestly have such a manly approach to being sick i think im going to die from the smallest things.. i hate being sick!!! (who dosen't)



Unfortunately i was hoping to have the shop update done by today but was kept back by a few days so it will be up by Friday!! so keep an eye out for some really cute pieces..

I decided to go with a little leopard today, mainly because its so hot already and this shirt is the softest coolest fabric!! and i wanted to break in my new I love billy heels.. i love them, the perfect height for me and super comfortable they were worth the wait for!! The vintage pleated skirt i had altered to be a little shorter and im happy with the way it turned out..





So now im off to put the bikini on now and have one too many hot dogs..

Coming up roses...

Its officially Friday and im in definate need of some R&R but just because i need it dosen't mean im going to get it this weekend.. lots and lots to do.. a ton of sewing and photo taking for some gorgeous pieces going into the shop next week!! and i will be including a few of the pieces i mentioned in the previous post..even though im finding it hard to let go of some of them they are just too darn beautiful!!!



So i did a little sneak peek on the Vintage Valley facebook last night of this dress which will be up for purchase next week.. i really do adore this one.. the high neckline and draping length with a matching wide belt..(sigh) and the pretty print also...i thought i would snap a few pictures and mayb dream for a little while it was mine..



I am sorry for all the boring backyard wall photos, i have been finding it hard to venture out to take pictures during the week..when time is a ticking...so im going to take some this weekend that dosent involve a lovely limestone wall..

I was given these baby roses by the lovely boy.. and they were sitting on my dresser mayb looking a little lonely so there is nothing like fresh flowers for a little hair bouquet..and quite fitting for the dress i thought..





Im going on a op shop hunt on Saturday im wearing flats and bringing my ipod for music scouring motivation... (i tend to listen to the beatles when im op shopping..for some reason) mayb they bring me luck!! im hoping to find a few more jewellery pieces..Then were having a games night on Sunday at the pad with all the girls (and lads) they are a competitive bunch but i usually just sit back and laugh at them get angry when they loose!!! although id have to admit i can play a mean round of Scattergories!!!



I hope your weekend is wonderful...If the weather holds up i think you should make yourselves a jug of Pimms and enjoy the sun!! (sorry to those who are having cold weather...earl grey tea is just as good!!)

In The Summer Sun...

Well It looks like my obsession with yellow (and pencil skirts) is still going strong!! Im putting it down to it being Summer here I just feel the need for everything to be sunny and bright!! Plus I love the clash of colours you can get.. along with blue I think purple is another perfect colour to throw in the mix..







I have had such a wonderful week so far after a pretty amazing weekend too.. I went to a baby shower on Sunday and it was so adorable.. lots of food and oohing and ahhhing and I managed to fit in a few things I had been hanging out to do like a little bit of sewing and writing so I was pretty happy with that.. I also went on a pretty nice date this week.. with a very lovely man.. who has perfect hair, style and manners!! Here I thought chivalry was dead and he was opening doors and pulling out seats.. it was amazing!! (Then again it doesn’t take much to impress me really. Just someone who can make me laugh does the trick)



I hit vintage gold this week and I practically had a heart attack in the op shop on my lunch break!! They had just put all their new stock out and I was grabbing pieces like crazy.. I found so many amazing things that I will be putting in the shop next week!! Including a vintage short lace wedding dress with matching bolero ahhh its so so beautiful!!!

Purse Peek & Mini Goal List..

So i know this is a post that has been used like crazy all over the place.. but id have to tell you the truth that i actually love seeing whats in other people's bags..probably to convince myself that the amount i carry around with me must be normal.. and plus i love looking at all the makeup and products people use too... so i thought i would share my bag with you!!!!!



I happened to have the latest issue of Frankie shoved in there i loved this issue especially the horse collar feature on the front page..gorgeous!! (and i love her pixie cut too) i always carry a notebook around with me as ive always got thoughts and ideas bouncing around in my head.. and they dont stay there for long so i have to jot them down... and a personalised pen my boss gave me next to a picture of my sister and me when we were kiddo's i love this shot so much..(im the chubby one behind the pink basket)

I was given this Jo Tote bag for my birthday last year and i havent put it down since.. its a rather large bag..which is dangerous because that means ill hoard things!! but it fits everything in their neat little places... and has a space for all my photography equipment!!! and i love the mustard colour too!!! Its perfect because ill always have my camera on hand so i can snap away at any time..

I dont carry around huge amounts of cosmetics usually just the basics..Lucas Paw Paw Lip Ointment (life saver) Max Factor red lip liner,Rimmel Exaggerate eye liner (my fav) Rimmel Riviera Red nail varnish & Model Co True Red lipstick (i actually adore this colour) and also to the side you can spot my Mimco wallet..which my best friend bought for my birthday, and two undeveloped rolls of film from my Diana Camera...ahh i keep forgetting to drop them in!!

Then you have the trusty coin purse which was a gift from Europe, The book im currently reading Wuthering Heights (again) and my Iphone...
So thats it... a little less than normal but thats basically what i lug around all day!!!
I also thought id put up my Mini Goals for 2011...Im excited to check them off one by one, im super excited about my sisters upcoming wedding.. and getting my Boston Terrier.. eek!!!!!

Casual Weekdays...

Only after uploading these images did i realise i almost have the same colour palette as the last outfit.. hmm im in a navy mood this week i guess..but really i did work the outift around the skirt because im seriously in love with it..

Uh.. Pleated perfection really... wouldn't you say? and plus it also reminded me a little of the Rodarte skirt (but even a little cuter i think) i do have a green cotton pleated skirt i have featured on the blog before but the cut and fit of this skirt feels a whole lot better.. and it makes me want to twirl!!





So i titled todays post Casual Weekdays because i do like to dress up alot..but i wanted to show you what i would wear just as an every day mid week outfit!! something easy to move about in.. with minimal fuss but a bit of elegance!! for the days when your hair is playing up (like today) where the humidity here has totally made all the waves dissapear from my hair.. ahh..







So i left my most lady like pose for the last image haha but really i mean look at the size of our balcony...bit of a joke really!! is it normal to feel claustrophobic on a balcony?
Also a big thank you to everyone for your swing dancing suggestions.. i think ive found a centre to do it at and im going to be taking their beginners course next month eek!! exciting... im looking forward to checking all my mini goals off one by one..
So this weekend will be filled with alot of coffee, A baby shower for my best friends sister, listening to The National over and over and scouring the internet for my bike...(and hopefully squeezing in a bit of reading and a photoshoot)
